Happy Caturday! One of these things is not like the others, but don't tell that to Shorty and Kodi. They're trying really hard to make a certain kitten feel like one of their own.

Mother's Day (May 12) is coming up, so let's take a moment to admire all the awesome parenting that takes place in the animal kingdom, from cheetah moms to marmoset moms. In fact, you should show this list to your mom and have a weepy moment together while she reminisces about your first day of school. And for God's sake, stand up straight!

The amazing precision with which Ellie the goshawk flies through this obstacle course will impress you, and probably make you a little envious. There's no way I could mold my body so incredibly, a feat which the first comment on this video summarizes: "Elly seems able to mould her body to any shape - I'd like to see her make a cow."

Marc Martin illustrates a beautiful adventurer's guide to the alphabet, starring exotic animals. Martin also includes a map of where to find the strange creatures, and interesting facts about them. I don't know if anyone is supposed to have a favorite letter of the alphabet, but that loris might be the star of the series.
Happy Caturday! Since it's nearly Easter, I figured this is the perfect time to introduce you all to the unlikely friendship between a tiny baby chick, and a less tiny housecat. The chick seems like the more affectionate one of the pair, but the cat makes up for it in ample room for the chick to sleep on.

Evolution, Mother Nature or some kind of God may be responsible for designing all the beautiful animals in the world but British illustrator Alan Dalby has taken credit. His bold and colorful drawings of members from the Animal Kingdom show a great respect and appreciation for the weird and wonderful creatures we share the Earth with. Dalby's successful prints have themselves evolved into pillows, iPhone cases and more in his online shop. Such is nature.

Eating certain types of food can get boring, but playing with it never does. Brazilian artist Vanessa Dualib has made a name for herself with her creative and playful food art. To her, aubergines are whales, cauliflower is sheep and kiwis are, well, kiwis. Below is just a glimpse of her vast collection of sweet organic creatures.
Happy Caturday! You might think there's only one kitten in this video, but you'd be wrong! Murkin the dog is actually taking care of five little kittens, and they're all around here somewhere. Are interspecies friendships the best, or are they the best?

Mom, is that a ghost outside my window? No, it's the work of French artist Cédric Le Borgne and he's been installing chicken-wire men in public places around the world. Le Borgne describes himself as a "perfectionist, an intransigent artist who also works within the dimension of time," so there's a brief insight into why one might embark on such a project. His "voyageurs" exist to abolish barriers, make people think about space in new ways and to evoke poetic thought from all those who see it. That is, all those who don't first have a heart attack when they see a translucent man above their window.

Now you truly can catch 'em all: introducing 3D "Jarpets". These collectable critters are miniature projectors that, when connected to a computer via USB, can download information about any chosen animal and provide you with a holographic little friend. The project boasts its ability to satisfy children's curiosity about nature with a more practical solution than keeping a real pet. They may not be as loveable and cuddly as an actual lamb or penguin, but they'll keep those brain cells growing. A butterfly Jarpet, for instance, can assist children with observing the biological process of how a caterpillar becomes a butterfly. Winner of the red dot design award.
